James Meredith was the first African-American male to attend an all-white college, at the University of Mississippi in Oxford. Before I began to dive deeper into this Biography, I was already interested at the start. I had recently visited the University of Mississippi in Oxford, and I didn't know that this is the University where James Meredith went to; It's an honor to have visited the same school where history was made. That very campus at Ole Miss where I spent a weekend at, tear gas canisters were exploded to keep the riots from people protesting against this in control. James Meredith had to go through many obstacles and fought in court so that he could attend his dream college, Ole Miss. Despite all of the obstacles, James said his most remarkable achievement was fighting the system of "White Supremacy". After he got his diploma, the first Mississippi schools began to integrate. This Biography is filled with real-life photographs that capture certain events that were happening around James Meredith, which allowed me to get a more personal feel of what things were like when segregation was an issue.
