An informational text about what goes on clear definition of roles people have when putting on a performance. It also contains a small excerpt of where theater came from (only dates it back to the Greeks) in the back. I am unsure of how appealing it would be to young readers, but as an informational book, it is good. The story is about Jake and his uncle who is an actor in a traveling theater company. Throughout the book, Jake's uncle Stewart takes him around the theater introducing him to key people who help put on a show and what their jobs are during the performance or before. ( ) Review: This story is about a young boy, Jake, who goes to the theater with his mom, to visit his uncle, who is acting in a play there. Jake learns about the nuts and bolts that are involved in presenting a play at a theater. Not only is Jake is taken on an informational tour in the story, but the reader is as well, as they read and follow with the vivid photography and informative text. Genre: I would classify this book as realistic fiction/informative. The characters of the story, Jake, his uncle Stewart and his mom, were simply conduits for the information about the theater to come across. The people and their jobs in the theater production process are much more integral to the story. Each time a new person and their job is introduced in the story, there is a box with a blurb about them, a definition of sorts. At the end of the book, there is also a brief overview of the history of theater, as well as an index of topics covered. Zeige 2 von 2 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
