110 Precepts originally written in the 1589's by Jesuits for children of the Aristocracy. Mostly on how to behave aroundo thers. This was taken to heart by G. Washington and it guided him hrough his years. ( )

This is an excellent book that I think EVERYONE needs to read at some point in their life, and the sooner the better!

As the sub-title so aptly expresses, these are the rules that helped shape George Washington into the man he was, a man whose character and behavior were so extraordinary that they were commented upon by nearly every person who ever knew him throughout his life.

Of course, some of the rules may seem strange or outdated, but I think most of them still apply to us today. The very first, for example, is in itself a summary of all the others and is very reminiscent of the Golden Rule:

"Every Action done in Company, ought to be with Some Sign of Respect, to those that are Present."

If you've never heard of or read this book, I urge you to go out as soon as possible and BUY IT. Don't just borrow it, BUY IT. Carry it with you everywhere. Read it often. Practice it. It is definitely worth the time. ( )
