If I was teaching a class and the theme of the book was courage and just beliving in yourself. Howard teaches the children to never give up. For example, the little boy in the story was heard all sorts of stories of this dragon and when he encountered it he didnt act scared once. Also, he had a goal to be jester an all he needed was an audience; so he went out and used to dragon as his audience. It took him a few jokes and tricks to get the dragon to laugh, but he didn't give up. That is what this book is all about, not giving up. YOU can do it! About Ernest, a young prince who does not want to be a prince at all. He wants to be a jester. So he sets out to test his skills and runs into a Dragon. But not just any Dragon a Three Headed Dragon! The dragon heads agree that if he makes them laugh, Ernest will be set free. Ernest tries to make them laugh showing a silly face, then by doing a silly flip flop, but it doesn't work. So then Ernest tickles the dragon and the dragon heads laugh uncontrollably. He is set free and gets safely home. Fun story, about bravery and the importance of laughing. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

Ernest's parents, the king and queen, are Very Serious - but Ernest wants to be a jester! He tries out his ability to make his audience laugh on a three-headed dragon (Snaggle, Snuffle, and Snide). Clever and funny - we sought out another of the author's books (Hoodwinked) and liked that a lot too! ( )
