This book explain the difference between touches that are positive and the touches that are secret, deceptive or forced. She teach her child Jimmy how to resist inapprpriate touching affirming that abuse is not the child fault. Review: This book discusses the issues of physical and sexual abuse. I think that it does a great job describing how to touch and how not to touch. It is important that children know this and some parents have a hard time discussing these issues. Uses: I would use this book in very low level grade to discuss sexual abuse in young children. I would use this to also discuss issues of listening in general. If someone says no or stop then we need to listen. Genre: This book fits into the critical literacy genre because it discusses the issue of physical abuse. It describes situations of appropriate and inappropriate touching between people. Media: Pencil and Wash a mother talks to her son about inappropriate touching. The warning signs a child might feel when something inappropriate is about to happen, what is inappropriate and when people are allowed to touch you. She emphasizes that if anything ever feels wrong, even if it's mommy or daddy to say no and go tell someone. Zeige 5 von 5 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
