These story shows tons of different animals in the circus and they even have ocean animals. All these animals speak to each other in English and Spanish. Personal reaction: This story is good for young children it shows them the different languages there are. Children love circus and animals so this story will grab their attention because they can relate because they may have gone to he circus. This story also helps them with learning a few words from another language. Classroom extensions: 1. I would want the students to draw their own circus with the animals talking and have them write it in English and Spanish. 2. Have the students do a simple crossword puzzle made by the teacher and it and they would be using English definitions for Spanish words. People go to the circus and see many acts and animals. After the circus, people go home in the rain, which then turns out to be a beautiful day. As readers, we learn Spanish in a fun and exciting way. We use context clues and illustrations to help us figure out what the Spanish words mean. Also, in the back of the book there is a glossary if we cannot figure it out. This is a great book to use if teaching Spanish to younger children grades pre-k through 4th grade. This is a story about a circus. Not just any kind of circus. As your reading the story you come across English and Spanish words that describe different things at a circus. Example: elephant-english, elefante-spanish. hot-english, caliente-spanish. sun-engligh, sol-spanish. I loved reading this story. My husband is Mexican so i can relate to most of the words. He tries to teach me all kinds of words. i'm not fluent yet but some day hope to be. We could do a spanish unit and we could celebrate cinco de mayo and do all kinds of mexican culture activities that week. some examples might be pinata, tasing different foods, making mexico flags, and teach the kids the words in spanish. This is a book about the circus. It has some English and some Spanish in it. The Spanish words are illustrated by the pictures so you can get an idea of the words mean without knowing how to speak Spanish. The book was very colorful and I really liked that about the book and I also liked how the pictures illustrated the Spanish words. One way that the book could be used in the classroom would be to teach some Spanish words to children. You could read it as an introduction to learning Spanish. After reading the book you could also find some pictures of other animals that were not in the book and put them up with their Spanish name beside them to help build the Children's Spanish vocabulary further. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

This multicultural book focuses on Spanish. The book is set up like acts in a circus. It interchanges from English to Spanish so that you can try and use context clues to guess what the Spanish words are. This book uses rhyming to help the Spanish words flow for non-Spanish speakers.
Personal Reaction:
I thought this was a cute and fun way to introduce Spanish to the kids. It is a book I would definitely have to read over and over again and probably ask a Spanish speaker to help make sure I was pronouncing the words correctly and get comfortable with reading and saying them aloud. I think its a book that could make kids really interested or really confused.
Classroom Extension Ideas:
1. I think this would be a good idea to introduce Spanish to a class.
2.It would be fun to make Spanish food to go along with the words to help the kids make the connection.
3. This could also make for a good geography lesson and going over which countries speak Spanish.
