So far seems to be set in between two of the major episodes of the starwars series. Feels as though it's going to be a good read. This book takes place after the forth movie. Luke has just blown up the Death Star and is on the planet called Yavin 4. Emperor Palpatine is furiouse and sends his best officers to search for the one who blew up the Death Star. One particular officer named Rezi Soresh orderd his persenal hunter, X-7 to find and eliminate this person, who no one knew was Luke Skywalker. On Yavin 4, a security protocal was enabled to keep Luke safe by not telling anyone Luke bluew the Death Star up. The Rebles soon learned that their main money sorce was on Alderan, the planet that got destroied, and had to get there backup money supplie. It was on a planet called Munnilinst. The planet was in Imperial space and they hadsneake onto the planet. Meanwile, the hunter X-7 had changed his appearence into an A'mari worrior from Malano III named Tobin Elad. He then saved the Milleniom Falcon from being crashed and crashed his oun ship on a planet near Munnilinst. Han Solo, Princes Leia Organa, and Luke go out and find him and heal him back on their ship. When they finally reach Munnilist, they find out that the Munn that was holding onto the data card had got killed in an accident that was caused by another Munn's servents. On there way to finding Nal Kenuun, they met a dug named Grunta who tried to kill them. Grunta was killed in a fight and the group was captured by Kenuun's servents. He tells them he has their data card and he will give it to them if they can win the podrace for him. Luke wins the podrace and they gets doblle crossed by Kenuun who tries to capture them to send them to the Empire. Leia finds his pet dragon and thretens to shoot it if they don't let them all go. Kenuun agrees and they fly away. Meanwhile, X-7 reports back to his comander that he found a likely candidate to who blew up the Death Star. Much better than the children's book I was expecting. While not exactly an academic or complex read, it is nonetheless not "written down" to the children who make up its main demographic. As an adult I found it engaging and amusing. The story is set somewhere after the first movie, Star Wars: A New Hope, and chronicles minor adventures of Han, Luke, Leia, and Chewbacca. It introduces a new character, a spy who seeks to join the Rebel Alliance, his intent to determine and eliminate for the Empire the person responsible for the destruction of the Death Star. His progressing story is the one that carries the Rebel Force books through as a series. This is part one and meant for those familiar with the Star Wars canon - though anything more than the movies is unnecessary. You can polish it off in an easy evening. I recommend it for those who enjoy the Star Wars universe and want a little more background on the characters that's not overwhelmingly enmeshed in the Expanded Universe canon.
