I took a quick glance at some of the other reviews as I went to add this volume and was kinda shocked to see so many "meh" comments about it! I actually really had a blast reading this: the writing felt true to the characters and was quippy without being annoying, the artwork was vibrant and expressive, and the plot was a delightful time-travel-y ride! I LOVED getting to see Melaka again; I read "Fray" for the first time last year and thought it was fantastic. Maybe I'm a bit biased because I'm a sucker for time-travel play (and centaurs tbh), but truly "Time of Your Life" is my favorite volume in Season 8 so far. ( )

Time traveling Buffy with the reintroduction of evil Willow. Can I geek out any more than this? The story was okay but the implications were much better. ( )

Not my favorite volume. I'm not entirely sure that anything really happened to move the story forward other than discovering who one of the Twilighters is (and that isn't surprising at all. Such a tool.).

And the dream at the end. It was like one of those rando-season ending episodes. ( )

This was a pretty startling departure from the storyline in the first three volumes. Buffy finds herself sucked into the future and meets Fray! That was pretty damn awesome... for a while. I loved watching them interact and fight side-by-side. But things got pretty serious and dark pretty quickly. Definitely neat to see more of Fray's universe (dystopian futures are in right now, in any case). But what had to happen... what Buffy was forced to do... I did NOT see that coming! (Probably because so many random things happened, and it was difficult sometimes to figure out where the story was going).

I liked this volume, though not as much as previous storylines. Onward to Volume 5! ( )

Buffy hops forward a few centuries and lands in future New York where there is only one slayer left in the world.

I read this and I’m completely lost. I have no fucking clue what this story is even about. Buffy must go forward in time? Why? I have no clue. It makes no sense to me. And the future speak? It gave me a headache. Not crazy about the illustrations either. There is a parallel story involving Twilight, but it’s minor and kinda lame. Dawn’s dumb storyline continues. All-in-all, not that impressed with this one. ( )
