I'd heard good things about the writer, but the story failed to live up to them and I only read about thirty pages before giving up. I would have liked more sense of the historical period, but all that's really used to convey it is a slightly archaic use of language. I think it may be the language that puts me off. It's the contrast between modern text and archaic conversations that jars. I don't mind one or the other, but I'd prefer them to be consistent. Characters think in modern English, but converse in cod Elizabethan English. ( ) keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

A vivid evocation of a comic acting troupe in Elizabethan London - but when one of their actors is murdered, the humour turns distinctly sour. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
