Endlich mal ein Krimi ohne schwedische depressive Ermittler :-) Natürlich haben auch die Angehörigen des A-Teams ihre Schwächen (wie auch Stärken), aber zur Abwechslung mal keine 'normale' Lebenssinnkrise (sieht man von Paul Hjelm ab) die sich in Form von Resignation, Frust und Flucht in den Alkohol äußert. Statt dessen ein verkrachter Bodybuilder, ein geläuterter Ex-Staranwalt, ein energiegeladener Jazzbassist... Die Figuren werden detailgetreu dargestellt mit all ihren Vor- und Nachteilen, ihren Widersprüchen und inneren Konflikten.
Dahl gelingen ungewöhnliche, durchaus vergnügliche Bilder (Zwei Lungenentzündungen kamen durch die Luft gesegelt und suchten ihre rechtmäßigen Besitzer), aber er spart auch nicht mit Gesellschaftskritik. Bemerkenswert ist ein zweiseitiger Part, in dem Hjelm sich Gedanken über das Verhalten der Unternehmen in der Gesellschaft macht. Obwohl das Buch bereits 1998 erschienen ist, lässt es sich 1:1 auf die Bankenkrise des letzten Jahres übertragen.
Weshalb nicht die volle Punktzahl? Im Klappentext wird in der Zusammenfassung erklärt, dass es sich um das zweite Buch mit Kommissar Hjelm handelt. Direkt darunter in der Autorennotiz steht hingegen, es wäre sein erster Fall. Nach der Lektüre würde ich nun sagen, es ist das zweite Buch. Ein weiterer Grund für den Abzug sind die überdurchschnittlich vielen Rechtschreibefehler. ( )
