Though I haven't read his first book is was intrigued by the theme of Michael J. Fox's second book. The stories he tells from his own life reaffirm that there is reason in the world to be optimistic and plenty rewards to be gained for those who keep the hope for a better tomorrow. Funny, poignant and thought-provoking without being preachy - an excellent read. ( )

Being close to the same age as Michael J. Fox, I could relate to so many of his childhood and young adult life experiences. I remember watching "Family Ties," and his character could be annoying at times but then he did the three "Back the Future" films and another side of his acting took hold. This was a book that had sat on my self for several years as a gift book. I began reading it just as Fox was taking more national interviews on Parkinson's and it put the time period of when he wrote this book into perspective. Like most of us, we were all disappointed later with Lance Armstrong but at the time, Fox reminded us all how big a lie Armstrong told the world about his comeback from cancer. It was refreshing to hear how Michael has tried to make the best of his life with his family and other projects with the illness and how it has impacted his life since having to retire from acting. ( )

Michael Fox is a good guy. It stinks that he battles his illness and knows its will only get worse. Inspiring what he has done with that. ( )

LUCKY MAN was evocative and informative in so many directions.
This book relies too much on Lance Armstrong and ends up being kinda dry.
I'll be looking forward to the author's next book for a smoother take. ( )
