With more than 13 million books in print, Julie Garwood is an exceptionally popular author. Since her first novel was published in 1985, eleven of her works, including this title and The Wedding, have been New York Times best-sellers. Set in the Old West, Come the Spring is part of the Clayborne family saga. Cole Clayborne has reluctantly agreed to serve as a federal marshal only long enough to capture a gang of murderous bank robbers. As he searches to discover who is in cahoots with the outlaws, Cole interrogates three beautiful young women. Although his aim is to arrest the robbers, as he questions her, one gentle doe-eyed woman captures Cole's heart. Filled with all the humor, passion, and excitement that are Julie Garwood's trademark, Come the Spring is a thrilling combination of love and adventure. For this unabridged audio recording, narrator Richard Ferrone brings to life each vivid character, from the keen-eyed lawmen to calico-skirted vixens.… (mehr)

Rating Come the Spring in comparison to the other books in the series, I would say this is my favourite after For the Roses. The camaraderie between Cole and Daniel and the antics of Jessica's adopted son Caleb is certainly interesting but it still falls short of the warmth and humour found in the bond between the Clayborne brothers in For the Roses. The Claybornes only make a brief appearance at the end of the story and do not make an impact at all. And since Cole, Daniel and Caleb each go their own way half way through the story, we don't really get to enjoy the best parts of the tale. I enjoy happy endings but there is such a thing as too much sweetness. For now, I'll be staying away from more of such similar romances. ( )

Cole Clayborne was known as a gunman, now a US Marshal called Daniel Ryan enlists him to help with unravelling a bank robbery mystery. There are three women to protect because one of them knows something about the bank robbery, a robbery that ended in murder. The woman was the only person to survive, leaving her purse behind. Unravelling the story of the robbery, murder and the women is an interesting path. The two men also find themselves attracted by women they're guarding.

I liked the romance and the twists and turns of the story. ( )

This was a fantastic book, finishing out the Roses series by Garwood. A wonderful read, with wonderful characters! ( )

This novel follows the For The Roses series and is about another Clayborne. This is about Clay and is a very entertaining book. ( )
