The only one I didn’t really like at all was the first one because it was overly ridiculous for me. The second one was a little slow but better written. And I didn’t really have any problems with the rest of them. I think it was impressive how clever Austen all ready was from a young age when she wrote these. ( ) This is some early writing from Jane Austen that, nonetheless, still shows how she was developing her skills and becoming a better storyteller in her own right. The main novel is a series of letters from two women to one another that deal with the themes of marriage, families, and unhappiness. The other pieces are more whimsical and there is even a small piece on the history of England. Overall, it is a surprisingly readable and interesting collection that should be read for those interested in Austen or classical literature. 3 stars. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
Classic Literature.
Juvenile Fiction.
HTML: Although Jane Austen is best known for novels such as Pride and Prejudice that deal with romantic entanglements and class conflicts, she was also a skilled essayist and humor writer. In Love and Freindship (sic), Austen sends up the epistolary novels that were popular in her day, as well as skewering some of the satire-worthy ideas about love and marriage that were common in the era. .Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
