Badly written, stupid characters, read like a SyFy monster of the deep movie. I read rubbish and enjoy it, I'm not a literary snob, but ive never read a book that screamed 'made for tv' quite so much. It was ridiculous throughout, and I don't really enjoy ridiculousness for it's own sake. Or ironic love for something- it's so bad it's good? No, it's just bad. ( ) I enjoyed this enormously. On the one hand it's a cheesily written Jaws rip off with one dimensional characters and completely improbable situations, but on the other it's about a 60 foot long prehistoric mega shark. I was thinking I'd give it 3 stars until I got to the absolutely insane climax which tipped it over to 4. If you like books with big sharks and lots of exclamation marks get it now! Read this on a whim after checking out the (okay-ish) movie; it’s way better. I finished it in one sitting. This book has a briskly moving plot, and highly imaginative deaths. It also has extended sequences from the Shark's POV which were a nice touch. That being said, Altern clearly worked out a lot of the unrealized issues surrounding his divorce in writing this novel. There are 2 female characters in this story: the conniving, manipulative, bitch ex-wife; and the understanding, brilliant, and much younger hottie he thinks he deserves. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

All New Revised and Expanded! Includes Meg: Origins. Carcharodon Megalodon; apex predator of all time, the most fearsome creature that ever lived a 70-foot, 60,000 pound Great White Shark. Hundreds of 7-inch serrated teeth filled jaws that could swallow an elephant whole. It could sense its prey miles away, inhaling its scent as it registered the beat of its fluttering heart, and if you ever came close enough to see the monster...it was already too late. For Navy deep-sea submersible pilot Jonas Taylor, it nearly was too late. Years ago, on a top-secret dive seven miles down into the Mariana Trench, Jonas came face to face with an ancient monster everyone believed extinct. Having barely escaped with his life, Jonas must prove to the world that Meg still exists. When an opportunity to return to the trench presents itself, he takes it, intent on returning topside with a 7-inch tooth! But man s presence in this unexplored domain releases one of the sharks from its purgatory, and now Jonas is the only one who can stop it. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
