Introduction
This book attempts to identify the location of all churches and graveyards in every county of Ireland. The source of this information has lain for over one hundred years within the pages of the Griffith's or Primary Valuation of Ireland. This survey, in which every head of household in Ireland was recorded, was carried out under the direction of Sir Richard Griffith between 1848 and 1864. All churches and graveyards were listed in this survey, but until now this information has remained "buried" among the listings of one million heads of household.
