This story is about a little girl who is upset because she hasn't lost her front tooth yet. In her class everyone has had their front tooth come out except her. She seems to think that having spacey smiles is cool. She sit and watch all her friends tell stories of how their teeth fell out. Then she finally loses her front teeth, only to lose it before she gets to show it off to her grandparents. Then at the end she finally finds her tooth and waits for the tooth fairy. Furthermore, this book uses frequently used words like and, I and the, which is good for children who are just learning to read. Also, the book uses many illustrations that help foreshadow the story plot. This book is good for children because it shows how it is okay to be different; would definitely recommend to all parents.
Since this story is all about being different, Parents can talk to their kids about other things that may since strange to them. For example, someone who is obese or someone in a wheel chair. Also, since this book repeats a lot of essential words like the, and, and she; they can read this book weekly to their kids so they can get familiar with these words, ( )

A first grade girl is concerned because she is the only child in her class who has not lost a tooth. Finally one morning at breakfast the tooth falls out as she takes a bite of bread. She is so proud and everyone is so happy and proud for her as she shows everyone the tooth and the space in her mouth. She does briefly lose the tooth but finds it in time to put it under her pillow for the tooth fairy.

I found this story to be heartwarming because loosing the first tooth is such a deal. This story is from a level 1 reader which I think is great because children ready to lose their first tooth should be able to read it themselves.

This is a wonderful story to help in addressing a child's fear of losing the first tooth. It also illustrates the emotions the little girl goes through during the process. ( )
