Have You Seen Trees shows students the differences of trees during the seasons. It shows trees during spring, fall, winter and summer. This story also introduces a variety of animals that children will learn. This story is great because it is an easy read and has a lot of colorful and exhilarating pictures. Teachers could use this book when beginning a lesson on the seasons and or nature. ( )

The book starts out by asking questions. Asking about high, wide, and reaching the sky trees. The book then goes on to talking about small, slow-to-grow, and low trees. It shows red, yellow, and orange leaves; talking about bright fall leaves. There are a lot of repeat words and descriptive words about trees and their leaves. There are dry, brown, and covering-the-ground trees that make a crunch sounds when you walk through them. The book mentions bark and describes it as wrinkled, rough, twisted, corky, cracked, white, and smooth bark. There are snow, winter, bright, and white trees. They make a snap sound all through winter.
As the book continues, it mentions winter green, spring, summer, and whispering trees. The book talks about dogwood, cottonwood, ironwood, and buttonwood trees. Saying there are no dogs, cotton, iron, or buttons in the trees, they are just wood! As the book comes to an end, it ends with the saying, “Have you seen trees?” The last few pages have names and pictures of trees that I found interesting and educational. ( )
