With rhyming text, sweet animal characters, and sparkly illustrations, The Very Special Valentine would probably make a good read-aloud selection, for young children who like cute Valentine's Day stories. I confess however, that it was just a little too cute for this adult reader. I grabbed it, almost at random, from the mostly depleted Valentine's Day display at the public library, this past weekend. Obviously, I should have examined it more closely... ( )

He looks all over the place and finds many other beautiful things of other colors, but never finds that perfect valentine for Rosie. In the end, Rosie tells him that the best gift of all is the love in his heart for her.
Review: This is the story of one bunny's love for another one and it is very cute. The characters in this book are all animals that take on human characteristics by talking, so this is a good example of a fantasy story. ( )
