Thoughtful book told from the perspective of a boy in California whose lunch is stolen by a homeless boy displaced by wildfires. Useful for starting conversations about wildfires, trauma-induced stress behaviors, homelessness and food insecurity. Positive depictions of Hispanic children and families. If it sounds preachy with all these SEL and equity learning categories, it really isn't -- it's just a nice little story about building friendships in tough times. ( ) Intermediate; Realistic Fiction; This is about a young boy that steals other kids' lunches. Before getting angry one of the other boys takes the time to learn that he is homeless and living in a hotel. The boy and his mother decide to make him a lunch and Rafael invites him to eat with he and his friend at lunch. Great for children who may need a reminder that people go through hard things and we can never judge what we see. It is a good example of realistic fiction because it is talking about a real-life story between two students. Kevin always stole others lunch which annoys the boy a lot. Once his mum told him that the boy's property may destroyed by fire, the boy starts to share lunch with Kevin. Hunger is hidden. We tend to judge things before knowing reasons. This is a good book of sharing and caring. Good to all ages This book is a fantacy fiction which talked about the little boy always stole other' s lunch and was found by a student. Finally, this student figure it out that why the boy always steal lunch and they found out that how misery he is. Finally, they decided to forgive him and give their hands to him and built a great relationship in the end. This book is quite interesting and meaningful which tells readers how to be selfless and nice to help more poor people who need indeed help, and it is appropriate for elementary school students. Realistic Fiction Review: Rafael's lunch was stolen from his bag. He knows who did it, but he does not know why until he finds out that the thief's home was destroyed in the terrible fires. Critique: This is a good realistic fiction book because it provides very real scenarios for children to think about. It also is relatable for children because maybe someone in the class had their home destroyed by fires keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
