Such Stuff – What happens when your thoughts mingle with others. 1 star

The Man who Made Friends with Electricity – When it comes to choosing new friends – be careful – 1 star

Kings Who Die – Just because you have found one booby-trap doesn’t mean there isn’t another one around somewhere. - 2 stars

The Unfortunate Mr. Morky – Not sure about the point of this very short story – not rated

Christmas Treason – Leave it to a bunch of kids to engineer global disarmament. – 1 star

A Miracle of Rare Device – What image would you conjure if you could conjure anything? – 4 stars

All the Sounds of Fear – What can happen when you take method acting too far. – 3.5 stars

One of Those Days – The way things look to someone who suffers from hallucinations. – 1 star

The Day Rembrandt Went Public – How things might go if art supplanted stocks as the focus of investment portfolios. – 1 star

MS. Found in a Bus – Someone left the opening pages of a book they were writing on a seat in a bus – the finder should have just left them there. - 0 stars

The Insane Ones – A world where psychiatric treatment and psychiatrists are outlawed. - 3.5 stars

Leprechaun – a case of mistaken identity…or was it? - 1.5 stars

Change of Heart – what happens when sea animals decide to fight back? – 2 stars

Angela’s Satyr – a girl and her satyr – 0 stars

Puppet Show – the art of stringing people along until you are really sure about their thoughts/viewpoint. - 2.5 stars

Hang Head, Vandal – When you are in a rush to do something right you often do just the opposite. - 1 star

Mars Probe: Report in Triplicate – three short stories about Mars – Earthlings go Home, The Martian Star Gazers, Planetary Effulgence. – not much here - .5 stars

Deadly Game – A conscientious game warden teaches the forest animals how to fight. - 2 stars

Subcommittee – sometimes kids do a better job of negotiating than adults. – 1 star – way too predictable

The Piebald Hippogriff - not sure about the point of this story either - not rated

Home From the Shore – an Earth where there are people on land and a new breed who live in the sea. – 1 star

In this collection of short stories there are a few with a rating of 3 or more so, overall, I would rate this as just an OK collection of science fiction. Of those with a rating greater than 3 the ones I most enjoyed, and which I have read multiple times, are The Toy Shop, The Face in the Photo, and A Miracle of Rare Device. ( )

Obviously of varying quality, but a fun read. stories by J.G. Ballard, Harlan Ellison, Gordon Dickson, and others. ( )
