I had read later books in the Brown Family series, and like those books this tells some real stories about real people (some, albeit, real rock stars.) Like the other books in the series this addresses issues of domestic abuse and PTSD in a responsible way. But that said we don't want things to be too realistic, this is romance. When I want warts and all relationship drama I read litfic. I go to romance when I want sexy hotness, when I want my HEA, and this delivers all of those things. I liked the central thruple, loved the side characters, and grooved on the music (I played a lot of PJ Harvey while I read this.) There are some clunky moments, and I really wanted the sexual relationship between Todd and Ben to develop further, but this is recommended! The primise of the story was ok, but I have a few issues with the the relationship dynamics and how quickly and easily fell into place. It was a story of Erin overcoming the tragedy that happened in her life years before and reconnecting with a past love. The primary issue I have with the story is how Todd who had questions and issues with his sexuality and relationship with Erin years earlier so easily, overcame them, and went from not admitting he liked to dominate women to entering into a The supporting cast, was good especially Erin’s brothers, and Ben’s brother Cody. The story was not all sunshine and flowers, it did jump into some real life issues and attempted to address them in the best possible way. Domestic violence and staking are difficult issues to write into a contemporary romance, especially one that has I also found that although the writing style was easy going, and hip in many places, I wasn’t in love it. Not sure if it was kindle formatting or poor editing, but I noticed lost of spelling errors. I would have liked a bit more sexual tension between Todd and Ben, more on the security firms work, more on the creative process involved in song writing , anything that could have balanced out the sexual side of the story, and the easy resolution to the sexual part of the story. I enjoy books with this scope and subject matter, but this one just not done as well as other’s I' ve read. I have to give it 3 stars, and may consider giving the next book in the series a look at to see if the authors writing improves in the over all storyline but that will be down the road. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

It's been ten years since clean-cut, sexy-as-hell police officer Todd Keenan had a white-hot fling with wild, uninhibited rocker Erin Brown. What happened between them got under his skin--even if love wasn't in the cards just yet... Now that they're back together, picking up where they left off is tough in light of Erin's troubled past. As Todd earns her trust, their relationship takes an unexpected turn. Todd's best friend, Ben, comes to play, arousing their deepest fantasies. The passion they share transforms Erin, but it may not be enough to face the evil she thought she had left behind. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |

I liked this book on the whole. It seemed a bit slow in spots but didn't really drag. I did feel like there might have been too much crammed into one book. The situation with Todd and Erin was interesting and intense. There was the whole getting back together (which happened way too fast/easily) and helping her get over her fears etc., and exploring his dominance. The whole situation with Ben seemed a bit shoe horned in. It also was interested but I felt that this story really seemed slighted. It was one of the best most realistic explorations of entering a permanent menage relationship that I've seen and I would have liked to see the whole coming out to their families actually written out so I could read it. There was obviously a lot that happened off screen there. So ultimately I was disappointed in that aspect. I would have loved to see a realistic exploration of all the diverse reactions and fallout. Seemed almost like two separate books. Still I did enjoy it on the whole. ( )
