The series of works that compose this book have their origin in a set of magazines on nudist fields that Lakra bought in the market of Sundays of Brick Lane, London. He commented: "I bought the magazines at the Brick Lane Sundays market, it was about twenty magazines that cost me five pounds, or something, over-priced. That day it was raining and they were all wet. " The silhouettes drawn by Lakra in magazines are made with Chinese ink and then scraped with needles used for tattooing. Some of the tattoos are made with the same ink but very diluted, and others, with a pencil. Also uses vinyl and white wash. 38 illustrations Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |

Dr. Lakra began as a tattoo artist in Mexico City but soon brought his skills to bear on pulp imagery, etching his designs on the skins of characters found in vintage magazines. "Lakra" is a Spanish colloquialism meaning "scum" or "joker" and also refers to a blemish or scar, and by extension to a socially disgraceful group or individual.
