I really liked this book because it is such a well-known story and classic. There are so many different version of this story but I really enjoyed this one. The language is descriptive and clear. The characters are made up but well-developed. There is a lot of imagination and creativity in the story. The plot is organized and paced well. I like how there is repetition through out the story. The line, I'll huff and I'll puff and blow the house away" is used over and over again through out the book, which I think enhances the book. The story changes but still has similar situations through out the book. The illustrations enhance the story and help the reader understand the story better. The illustrations are well developed and support the story. The big idea of the story is good morals, hard work pays off, and thinking forward. ( ) I had mix feelings about the story. I read the captions playing at the bottom of the video along with the narration and was surprised how morbid the story actually is. The illustrations that went along with the story were very detailed, and attention grabbing. The pictures made the video more interesting than a simple recording of the story. They displayed the emotions and fear of the animals on the story. Before the first little pig was eaten the illustration of his face made the reader sympathize with him feeling bad his house did not act as protection for the animal. However, I did not like the aspect of the pigs being eaten when their house was blown down. Growing up, I heard the version where the pigs would run to the next house finally ending up safe at the brick house of the third little pig. I felt the wolf eating the piggies was too morbid for the young audience. I agree students need to be educated about the world not being happy all of the time, but this should be introduced carefully not by a "casual" mention of being eaten. Although young readers may not notice, I was also taken back by the third pig eating the wolf who ate his brothers. Overall, the story is traditional and modified by who tells it, but I would not use this version in the classroom. Zeige 2 von 2 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

Once upon a time there was an old sow who had three little pigs, and as she had not enough for them to eat, she said they had better go out into the world and seek their fortunes. Ages 0+ Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
