I did not enjoy this book because the illustrations did not match up with the story and because it is more of a biography which is not a genre I prefer to read. The main idea of the story was to encourage people to have dreams and go after them, and that anything can be done if you plan and work hard to achieve it. Except at the end of this story the two explorers did not achieve their dream. They wanted to cross Antarctica in 100 days by skis because if it were any longer then the winter would come and they would have no way to get home. They made it as far as they could in 90 days but then realized that they wouldn’t be able to finish in time so they called a plane to come pick them up. They did accomplish encouraging people and inspiring people but they did not achieve their own dream.

i enjoyed this book and id recommend it def. for girls and boys as well but would probably be more appealing to females. I think its great to teach that you can do anything if you put your mind to it ( )

This is good book for young girls to read. It shows them that they can do anything if you put your mind to it. It is a great difference showing time lines instead of just paragraphs. ( )
