Keenan illustrations life in the United States by writing about symbols we use, historical people that are important in history, and places and events that shaped America. Keenan writes about Independence hall, the white house, the capital building, the supreme court building, etc. She explains the significance of each and what takes place inside those buildings. I found it interesting to learn the dimensions of historical buildings and statues such as the courthouse and Lincoln Memorial. This is the perfect book to teach in a Social Studies curriculum when wanting to teach students about America. It has everything you could ever think of that has been built or happened in America.
