This book was very interesting for me. My children and I always pick biographies to read that are about people who are less famous and this was a very good one to help learn about pyramids, tombs and mummies. Their were lots of side notes that told little known facts about the times and area.
As an extension, this book could be used in conjunction with a study of Egyptian history to help learn interesting facts that most history books do not have. The teacher could also use other reference books about mummies and tombs to help children get a better idea of the time. Next, it would be fun to find out more about heiroglyphics and see if the children could even make their own.
