The main idea of this story was to teach the reader about serving on a jury. It allowed the reader to understand all the steps jurors go through to come to a final verdict at the end of the day. The bolded words throughout the story were very important. It allowed to reader to look in the glossary for the reader to learn the definition about a word they may not have known. For example, on pg.4, the words cases, trials, Constitution, and citizens are all bolded to let the reader know to look in the glossary for the definition of the word. This is important for a reader because when you do not know a word, it is essential to be able to look in the back of the book to understand the word and its meaning. Next the photographs are an important aspect of the story. It allows the reader to understand what is occurring in court and how a courtroom is set up. For example, on pg.6, the photograph shows the jury and how they sit in a courtroom. This allows the reader to have an image in their head about what they are reading.
