If you love fashion and admire Mrs. Michelle Obama, you will enjoy reading this fashion and biographical retrospective on our current first lady. To my joy, I've won a copy of this book so I can look at it whenever I like! ( )

I LOOOVED this book. This book was such a eye opener. To learn about someone through fashion is wonderful. I learned more about the 2008 election than I expected. The attention to detail and the interviews Mary was able to obtain speaks highly on how much she loves covering her. Kudos and sequel!!!! ( )

This is an interesting book, telling about the life and fashion of Michelle Obama, First Lady of the United States. She is a remarkable woman both in her day to day life as well as in her sense of fashion.

When you read Mrs. O, you learn about Michelle Obama from the time she was born until present day. Tomer uses great detail to explain the fashion sense of Mrs. Obama. Details that most people never hear about, like the type of fabric an outfit she wears is made of or how it fits on her body.

Mrs. Obama, or Mrs. O as she is now known, has a unique taste in fashion. She's not a trend follower, she's a trend setter, with a style that is all her own, in both casual and elegant styles.

I enjoyed reading this book and I feel as though I know Mrs. O better. I recommend this book if you like fashion or if you just want to know the first lady a little better. Well done, Ms. Tomer

I normally do not review non-fiction books but after seeing all the wonderful fashions Michelle Obama wore during the campaign I could not resist this book. I think this would make for a fascinating read even for those who are not really into fashion. It gives a broad glimpse into the various designers and brands Michelle wore and there are spotlights on some of the designers backgrounds and design philosophies. The range of clothing was amazing as she wore the ever famous Jimmy Choos but also had outfits pulled together from J. Crew. One of her dresses on the campaign trail even came from H&M which is definitely not what I pictured a presidential candidates wife to be wearing. And while I was not a fan of her Inaugural Ball gown I was amazed to find out the designer, Jason Wu, was only 26 years old. One other quirk I noticed while reading this book that I did not notice just watching Michelle on TV is just how into broaches she is. It wasn't unusual for her to play up a plainer dress with some sort of fancy broach. Overall a fascinating read. ( )

Fashion is a wonderful thing. The right clothes can transform not only how you look, but how you feel. Couture is wearable art, pure & simple, but for the rest of us mortals there is plenty of beautiful ready-to-wear to costume our days.

Mrs. O capitalizes on the popularity of the Mrs. O website to bring readers a beautifully designed book filled with pictures, narrative of Michelle Obama's journey to the White House & what she wore along the way, & interviews with some of her favorite designers.

Michelle as been a breath of fresh air in Washington, DC. Too often political wives and female politicians have settled for drag & boxy skirt suits or frumpy dresses. Their color palette has either been red, white, & blue or Easter egg pastels &, with a few exceptions, they've all tended to look pretty dreadful. Michelle Obama, with her mix of high & low fashion & her self-confidence has given us all something new & beautiful to look at. It's lovely to see a strong, well-educated African American woman who looks like a million dollars whether she's wearing something from the Gap or something from Thakoon. Our First Lady is a great representative for our country. ( )
