This is about a tree that blooms, grows fruit, changes colors, and how her children (seeds) blew in the wind and land and grow to be big trees. It also explains what happens to the tree during the different seasons. Once the grand tree finally dies, it is still a home to many insects and animals.

This book shows the importance of trees both living and dead. The style of the story is very interesting and keeps the reader’s attention by telling a story of the tree and her children. The way the text is organized helps young readers understand how trees are important without being too complex. The illustrations and design help young readers to connect to the story and to know what is happening.

This story is about the life cycle of a tree.There aren't many words but the language is very rich. This would make a great resource when teaching life cycles or habitats. This story was very good and for me a little sad. I would recommend for grades Pre-K and up. ( )

I am really torn on this book. There were reasons I liked it and reasons I didn't like it. One of the reasons I did like this book is because it takes a complicated idea of life cycle and makes it more simplified. The way it is worded and written it is as if the tree were a person and could be explained by assuming it was a she. For example on one of the pages when it is describing her branches it says, "her arms reached," this is taking an inanimate object and making it seem more human.

The reason I didn't like this book is because of the illustrations. They did not add anything to the story that you couldn't read in the words. On one of the pages it describes a raccoon nesting in the trunk and that is exactly what is on the page a tree trunk with a raccoon inside.

The main idea of this book is to be informational about the life cycle of a tree. ( )
