Written very much in the style of "Who Moved My Cheese," McFarland tells the story of Mike, the division head of a larger corporation which is losing accounts and being pressured by corporate to cut costs. Mike is discouraged until his friend Joe, and army ranger, walks him through the process of understanding why adversity can be opportunity, how accepting responsibility can actually be liberating, and how sharing information and reaching out for opinions beyond the management team can help generate great ideas and bring a company together as a team. The book stresses the importance of the mental factor (controlling anxiety), controlling the financial (money) situation, understanding your company's mission, and increasing morale, buth in turning around a failing company and in taking a successful one to new heights.
