President Obama kept his promise to his daughters who waited patiently and dealt with the election duties, by giving them a puppy. when Obama won the election, his daughters won their puppy. But picking one wasn't easy since Malia had an allergy, so that eliminated some choices. Picking a name wasn't easy either since they all didn't agree. Finally, the puppy and its name was chosen. He was a Portuguese water dog named Bo. ( )

This cute and family centered book covers the want and search for the Obama family's new pooch. President Obama's daughters, Malia and Sasha waited patiently for their puppy, and when he announced they would get one during his victory speech, the girls immediately began to prepare. But which breed would they choose? After lengthy decision-making, and much needed eliminating due to Malia's allergy, they chose a Portuguese water dog, who they named Bo. ( )

First Pooch is a cute tale of the Obama's choice of a pet. It not only tells a tale of how and why they got a dog, but also gives references to other first pets, such as Bill Clinton and George Washington's pets. Children will like this story because it is about a current president and his family. It gives children something in common with the first family. ( )

When President Obama was elected as the forty-fourth president, he promised his daughters, Malia and Sasha, a new puppy. The girls searched and searched for the right dog to accompany them in the White House. Finally, the girls decide on a Portuguese Water dog that they name Bo. This caring story shows how all children, even the president's, have to behave in order to be rewarded. ( )

Bo Obama is one of the most well known presidential dogs. First Pooch: The Obamas Pick a Pet tells the story of how the Obamas came to be the proud owner of Bo the Portuguese Water Dog. The story covers how Sasha and Malia were able to get a dog, how they chose the Portuguese Water Dog, how they prepared for his arrival, and how they take care of him. This story helps to bring the President and his family down to the reader's level. He has a dog just like many Americans and he has to take care of him just like any other dog. ( )
