"Twelve-year-old Emma-Rose Paley has always felt very different from her bubbly, outgoing parents. Unlike them, Emma-Rose has pale skin and jet-black hair, she prefers gray weather to sunshine, and she hates the taste of garlic. When Emma-Rose's great-aunt Margo comes to visit from Romania, Emma-rose uncovers a dark family secret and has a sudden revelation. Could Emma-Rose be a real, live vampire?" (publisher).… (mehr)

This book was way less creepy then the first book in the series. Emma Rose thinks she might be a vampire when her Great Aunt visits from Transylvania (who clearly is a vampire) and Emma Rose see's the similarities between them. At the same time she is fighting with her best friend Gabby, which is making her sad. But her belief that she may be a vampire is giving her a ton of confidence. She's making new friends, in charge of decorating for the dance and talking to the boy she likes.

I really liked this book. I love any book where you get to see a character come out of her shell. I also finally figured out that these books don't include the same characters or seem to really be connected other then being about paranormal characters. ( )

Emma-Rose is different. She loves rainy, dark days. Her hair is black and her skin is very fair. She looks nothing like her parents. But when her great-aunt Margo arrives from Romania, Emma-Rose thinks she knows what is going on. Her aunt Margo and she are both vampires.

This was a fun book that dealt with lots to tween issues. Friendship and trust. Accepting change. Asserting yourself. All these topics are covered in a fun story. I like that in this series the supernatural is real, even if not the way the kids think it is. ( )
