Ellen Stoll Walsh's, "Jabber and Dot and the Mystery of the Missing Stream," was about a stream becoming dry after a bad storm and it was up to the mouse detectives to figure out the mystery. The mouse detectives used what they knew from prior knowledge to figure out that all of the branches were causing the water to be backed up and not flow. Like beavers do with a dam. The detectives knew there were no beavers causing this dam and that it had to be all of the storm's fault. Once the mouse detectives were sure and cracked the case, they made sure to fix the problem before celebrating another solved mystery. This book, like the other, teaches students how to solve mysteries. This book also gives insight on the way streams work, along with dams. It also shows how the animals are effected by storms, even if they are small storms. This book could pose a prediction question for students such as "what do you think would happen if the detectives wouldn't have solved the problem." The students could have then been enlightened on what a catastrophic event this storm could have caused. ( ) keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
