The Bedford Guide for College Writers by X.J. Kennedy et. al. was published in several configurations. The most complete guide contains three suppliments to the main book and is considered to be like an omnibus edition contianing four books. Only editions containing the Reader and Research Manual should be included here. These editions lack the writer's handbook which is contained in other editions. That approximately 146 pages constitutes a substantial difference between this and the complete Bedford Guide with all three suppliments.

The lack of any of the three suppliments makes that edition considerably different than one which contains all four or any specific three books. The best way to determine which group your Bedford Guide belongs in is the full title. The Bedford Guide for College Writers with Reader and Research Manual is missing the Writer's Handbook.
