Everything about it makes me want to giggle - from Pigs innocent view of the world to the crocs mission in life to keel Zebra (yup. You read that right). There is always something that makes me laugh out loud. This volume is no different - I find myself laughing at work from something I remember in the strip - I think my co-workers are thinking I'm not quite in the head... Anyway, go read this. You won't be disappointed. Zeige 3 von 3 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

Smart, sharp, and sometimes painfully honest, Pearls Before Swine mocks the flaws and shortcomings of human nature with cynical humor. Stephan Pastis's key to humor: "When in doubt, kill cute things." Cartoonist Stephan Pastis's 50,000,000 Pearls Fans Can't Be Wrong is one collection that's destined for the top of the charts. It's pure gold, packed with smart, sharp, and painfully honest comic strips that will rock readers with their clever insights into the human soul. Pearls Before Swine is Pastis's hilarious comic strip tale of two friends: arrogant, egotistical, "hound dog" Rat, and slow-witted, painfully naive, "teddy bear" Pig. Along with Zebra, the "jailhouse rock" activist; Goat, the "treat me nice" reluctant brain; and the "heartbreak hotel" carnivorous Crocs, Pearls delightfully mocks the flaws and shortcomings of human nature. Ladies and gentlemen, the King has left the building. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |

Comic artistry at its best. I have been a great lover of comic strips since I was old enough to stand on tiptoe and check out Garfield and Peanuts collections from my local library, and this edition of PBS is everything you could want. It makes me mad when I get a newspaper and maybe two strips will make me chuckle, one laugh out loud, and the rest are banal, unfunny, or poorly drawn.
Pearls Before Swine is the "laugh-out-loud funny" one. ( )
