This book tells the reader about the cyclical way of nature and the part we can play in helping Earth. This is a good book to read kids interested in gardening or recycling. This book was unlike any of the other books that I selected for this project. It has very simple text and includes, photographs instead of drawings and other graphics. It also is something that could go beyond a research project. We could do this experiment as a class and show the students how composting can create new soil. I enjoy how they show children doing most of the work in the pictures because it would be extremely easy for my students to relate to the ones in the book. I would love to use this as a science project for the class they could dump their sandwich crust and left over apple cores into a compost bucket instead of the trash and then watch it turn into something new. Family has a garden and shows us how we can start one too. Starting with a compost bin, we are shown how to we can add some our garbage such as cantaloupe rinds, coffee grounds old vegetables and even peanut shells to it to start our compost which will later be added to our soil to help our garden produce wonderful fruits and vegetables. ages:3-up source: Pierce County Library Zeige 3 von 3 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
