Okay, perhaps that is going a little far, but not by much. I absolutely adore this book. I particularly love Zora Neale Hurston's "Colored Me," Virginia Woolf's "The Death of the Moth," and Amy Tan's "Mother Tongue." Brilliant. ( ) I had to use this book in my AP English Class and I absolutely loved it. It had a wide range of essays on a variety of topics ranging from race relations to fatherhood by a variety of authors both classic and modern. It exemplifies good writing and even if you dont like one particular essay there is always another one that you will like. I highly recomend this book, even as a casual read. "50 Essays: A Portable Anthology is a bestselling value-priced reader because its virtues don't stop at the price. The book's carefully chosen selections engage students and include both classic essays and high-interest, contemporary readings. The editorial apparatus is flexible and unobtrusive enough to support a variety of approaches to teaching composition. The sixth edition features new voices on culturally relevant topics as well as sentence guides that help students develop an academic writing voice with templates for a variety of composing situations."--Amazon.com viewed August 27, 2020 Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
