Opinion: "Miracle on 49th Street" is a great book for late elementary school aged children. The plot is relatable for a lot of students who do not have typical family situations, or for students who play basketball. The book is written in the third person as it follows Molly on her journey to meet up with and be with her estranged father (Lupica). He is a star player on the Celtics, who is faced with a decision between family and his career. The story is structured well, and containing dialogue that carries the tone of realistic conversations. The big idea is that no matter how far you go in your career, you are never too important to go back to the people that made you who you are. ( )

A book that was different than other books I have read by the same author. I thought the story line was interesting, but I would have liked there to be a bit more at the end of the story to really wrap things up. ( )

This book is about a young girl named, Molly who has lost her mother. She finds out that her dad is an NBA star for the Boston Celtics. The NBA star, Josh Cameron, thinks this girl is crazy and tells her to leave him alone at first. As soon as Josh finally starts to believe that he is her father, Molly’s foster home parents move away and she is forced to make a decision. Josh Cameron is the antagonist and tries to get his “daughter” out of his life. The cover is a basketball spinning on a person’s finger. This is appealing because it gives info about the story and is also drawn very detailed. This book is open to any reader, especially the ones who get the father/daughter relationship, or someone who loves basketball. ( )

Molly Parker wasn't here for some stupid autograph. She wasn't even here for the open practice the Celtics had run today, their last practice before they would begin the regular season tomorrow night against the 76ers.
