This book was very cute. It is a good story for kids to read to learn about how much responsibility goes into owning a pet. The illustrations were also very detailed and colorful, and the book had lots of humor throughout. It is a very funny and light read. ( )

This story is a witty and humorous twist on the typical story of a child's first pet. Just as human mothers scold, Mama Bear warns Lucy, "Children make terrible pets!"
