Can't even contemplate a serious review. It's Lora Leigh. It's the Breeds series. You know what you're getting and you get a good dose of it here. Fuzzy logic. Lots of sex. Angsty sentences that don't mean much. Lots of sex. Plot full of holes. Lots of sex. Lots of contradictory statements. Lots of sex. Feelings and assertions not backed up by actions or feelings of others. Lots of sex. The kind of thing you like if you like that kind of thing. ( )

Mica's been in love with Navarro since she was 16, told that there was no mating hormone or heat between them even as an adult, a kidnap attempt on Mica throws them together again. It starts somewhat formulaic but you realize that it's not going quite the same path as previous breed stories. Definitely feels like part preparation for future stories

Mica Toler was supposed to be safe,everyone said so, but deep in her heart, she knew different; had always known it. As the danger converges upon the players, everyone is about to get a major lesson in what it means to let the animal free by stealing a Breed's mate, even if she won't allow herself to be fully claimed.

I adore books about shapeshifters, but I especially adore those who make them seem plausible, sexy, hot with an actual plot and sub plots as well as well defined characters. en working with genetic manipulation since the mid 20th century.

Most of all she makes me wonder what it would be like to have those abilities, live in the real world and struggle to find my place- again. I definitely keep these paperbacks as they are worth a re-read. ( )

Quickie Review
This book is just BAD. Terrible editing, awful characterization and disjointed narration.

Navarro and Mica's romance is virtually non-existent except for the sex scenes (which are becoming exceedingly repetitive) and neither character is particularly interesting or likeable.

Leigh needs to get a move on with Cassie's story or I will fast be losing interest in the rest of the series. ( )

I like this story, in spite of the frustration with characters I felt pretty much the whole way through. Navarro really had me cringing in parts, and I wanted to slap him and Ely a few times. By the end of the book I was of course happy again, but it's all those twists and turns, ups and downs that make it an entertaining book. ( )
