ADVENT This book of Advent and Christmas meditations is a gift of rare depth and beauty.Christmas is the season most difficult to grasp and understand in all its spiritual richness. The sentimentality and commercialism that dominate the season tend to obscure the profound mystery at its heart: the Incarnation.

This is a set of brilliant essays on various topics, generally centered on the intersection of arts, culture, and faith. Wolfe has become, for me, one of the leading voices on literature and faith, a man whose both articulates so much better than me my own feelings and beliefs, but one who also extends my beliefs and challenges some of my own ignorance. As with any set of essays, some are better than others, but none are bad, and a few are absolutely enlightening.

a collection of prayers for families and children divided by topics including: home, new sibling, illness, petition, praise, holidays, etc.
Has a few traditional prayers that are short enough for young children to memorize. A good first reference for parents looking to introduce prayer to their famlies or young children. Probably not the best reference out there, but a good starting point.
