The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Supreme… von John Yoo
There's not much of a plot. The characters are almost abstract. But this book is a good capsule of the current status of SCUSA. The authors present several cases and decisions in understandable language. Their criticisms of the many cases are well argued. The challenges of the future are fairly but weely presented. Although the book is very recent, SCUSA has already passed into a new era.
Although the author himself has become notorious for his involvement with 'enhanced interrogation techniques' under the Bush administration, he has written a knowledgeable and interesting book about the evolution of executive power over the history of the American presidency. It is a bit tough at points, and requires some knowledge of the basis of constitutional law. Although what the author did remains under fierce debate, he is at least a coherent and analytical enough thinker in order to explain how we got here.… (mehr)
