CK / Authors' pages / Combine with... (combine) (never combine)

I've just added a copy of Thomas Craven (ed.), A treasury of American prints (1939), and added the thirty or more contributors to the 'Work' / 'Main page' / 'Other authors' box (but not to 'Your book information' / 'Other authors', if it makes a difference).

As a result, on each and every contributor's Author page / 'Combine with... (combine) (never combine)' has been added:

Thomas Craven ed. (combine)
Thomas Craven (combine)
Ed. Thomas Craven (combine)
Editor Thomas Craven (combine)

I have 'never'-ed contributors A-R, but left S-Z as evidence.

The 'Combine with... (combine) (never combine)' module has always struck me as useful, but sloppy, at best a work in progress.

My RSI would be either a tweak to the 'Combine with...' algorithm making it more discerning, or somehow allow mass never-ing of suggestions derived on the basis of a single Work. Thanks.

I think the "suggested author combinations" should be gotten rid of entirely. I haven't seen a useful suggestion in a decade.

Agreed. In all the years, I've seen 1 legitimate combination suggestion and deleted thousands of bogus ones. It doesn't help that you can only delete them one by one
