May be Facebook’s bug rather than LT’s, but here’s a description:
Until the last few weeks, I was able to copy and paste the LT URL for a book (e.g., https://www.librarything.com/work/21738841/book/260199429) into Facebook posts/comments and Facebook would render the cover, title and author in the panel display below the post/comment. First happened to me on March 10, 2024, the link info displayed in the panel is limited to “LibraryThing.com”. No book cover or metadata is displayed 😢, although the link itself goes to the book. Not sure if this is just me. I would rather post LT links than the commercial options out there, and they used to be effective—wondering if some protocol has changed recently.

>1 SusanBraxton: I've tried one of mine just now and discovered that a link to my personal copy (one that has summary/somenumber at the end) indeed results as you described, but restricting the link to work-only (in your case https://www.librarything.com/work/2173884) still works as usual. Hope this helps track down the issue, as well as a workaround in the meantime
