Tag cloud in TinyCat

In LibraryThing we are able to look at the tag cloud of all the tags used in the collection. I think have a feature in TinyCat where patrons could see what all the available tags are so that they can better search for material they want.

I haven't really fiddled with customizing TinyCat homepage, but you can add all sorts of links. I know people use search results to showcase a collection or some other subset of books, so there's probably a way to put the tag cloud as well. Someone more knowledgeable might be able to help more specifically.

Well what I am thinking about is more like a built in feature of tiny cat and not so much a link. I’m thinking of the tag cloud could be a tab in cat so patrons can better grasp how to search terms.

TinyCat does not have a browse feature, where you can see all records in the library or all tags for that matter. It's built to work like a traditional online catalog, which means you must search for something, but as >2 SandraArdnas: mentions you can mimic browsing by adding links to saved searches on your TinyCat homepage.

For example, I've added links to my "Books" and "Movies" on my own TinyCat homepage here: https://www.librarycat.org/lib/kristilabrie. The books are from an Advanced Search results for Media Type, and the Movies are from an Advanced Search for my Movies collection. One of our featured TinyCat libraries, Folio's Seattle Athenaeum, has done this as well (they mostly add links to searches for Tags within their catalog): https://www.librarycat.org/lib/FolioSeattle.

You can run your own Advanced Searches in your TinyCat and add links to those searches from your TinyCat’s Home page Settings: https://www.librarycat.org/admin/settings/home, which would allow you to highlight various tags from your library if you'd like. I would definitely choose some of your most common / favorite tags to include on your homepage, I think. The others will still get caught if a user's search includes it.
