Your Legacy of Love is a book that would benefit anyone with loved ones who would be emotionally affected by their death. Gemini Adams lost her mother as a young woman and discovered the great void this left her with that could never be filled. Throughout the years she became a skilled educator and counselor on the subject of loss of a loved one and how you can alleviate some of that emotional devastation for those you will leave behind. Her expertise in this area is evident in this skillfully crafted book.

Most people, while making a will that takes care of the financial part of their estate, leave nothing to help ease the emotional loss such as letters, videos, etc. By planning now and following some of the advice and instructions found in this book, you will feel better knowing you are making things better for those you leave behind and your loved ones will be extremely grateful to have these cherished memories. These memories will help them keep a connection with you and keep your memory alive with them and perhaps grandchildren, etc. who did not know you.

What a great idea! I have seen a few online services that offer things along this line now, so I think the idea is growing since the time of this book, and of course with the advance of all things online and internet communication. I consider myself lucky because my grandma wrote me a book of stories of her childhood. What a treasure I have found that book to be! It does keep my grandma alive for me and everyone around me. I wish my mother had done something like Ms. Adams suggests in her book, or like my grandma had done. I really know so little about her life.

The book has a good size list of references and websites at the end. They look like they would be very helpful resources, but my guess is many of them will no longer be viable websites because of the amount of time that has passed since the book's publication.

I think the advice in this book is very good and will certainly benefit many people.

Reading through the intro and the jokes, I couldn’t tell if the book is meant to be a light-hearted giggle on how everyone’s addicted to Facebook these days, and we’re meant to all recognize ourselves and our own habits in the cartoons, or if it’s meant to be denouncing kids today and their pointless internet socializing and how much better offline, “real” interactions would be. Either way, there’s unfortunately not a lot to relate to in the comics or jokes.

(This review can be found on my blog The (Mis)Adventures of a Twenty-Something Year Old Girl at the beginning of December).

When I was asked if I would review this book, I said yes without even thinking about. This book has been on my to be read shelf for awhile, and while it wasn't laugh out loud funny all the time, it was still laugh worthy.

The cover shows that this is going to be a humorous book with funny illustrations. I, personally, like the cover, and it drew me in.

There is one sign that you're a Facebook addict on each page as well as a full page illustration on the other to go with the sign. Some of these are funny while others are mildly amusing. Some signs used in the book include "you've already created a page for your unborn child," your partner angrily claims they've become a Facebook widow," and "you've had a face-off with Facebook." There's also suggestions to detox from Facebook such as "get sent to jail," "join Google instead," and "fall in love."

I enjoyed the illustrations the most if I'm honest. Gemini Adams, not only wrote the book, but also illustrated it. While most of them are cutesy, there area few which are kinda crude. Mostly, they only show women's breasts. There's no illustrations of crotches so worry not.

I believe this book would be a perfect stocking stuffer or gag gift for someone who is on Facebook a lot. I'm thinking of getting this book for my dad who is obsessed with how many friends he has and how many likes he gets.

(I received a free paperback copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review).

The Facebook Die, worte by Gemini Adams, it's a funny illustration book with 50 cartoons as examples of facebook addiction. I found this book really funny, beacause I felt identified with some of the "addiction signs", like the one of "you no longer participate in face-to-face social interaction period".
I don't have too much to say about this book, I found it funny, the illustrations are well made, but it was too short, I read it in 5 minutes. This book is ideal to all those facebook addicts, you'll smile and maybe take in mind one of the facebook diet advises.… (mehr)
