Information-rich background history for the decades in question, as well as a look at how certain staples (hats, purses, belts, LBDs, swimwear, nightgowns, etc.) have changed over time. Photographs show a lot of detail, but overall not as great for sewing inspiration, since there were very few items that I would be inspired to adapt.

A must-read if you have any interest in vintage scarves. Which may not be that many people.

If you've ever been curious about the development of scarves over the 20th century this is one for you. I also found it inspirational with ideas and pattern design. I may use a few as launchpads for myself. Slightly unwieldy coffee table book, this is covered in cloth with one of the scarf patterns from the book.
