Prose was a bit dry, and it was meaty, but what a great book! One of those books that inspires one to read the classics. Tons of diverting insert articles and illustrations, but the "chapters" are short (a couple pages). Stick with it, you'll learn a thousand drachmas worth, in an entertaining way.

The Mythic Bestiary features creatures from folklore and mythology globally, with illustrations and detailed descriptions. It separates them into three classifications: beasts of the air, earth, and water.

The bestiary has some very exotic beasts and references from authors like Pliny the Elder and Jorge Luis Borges.

An amazing collection of myths from all over the world. It is nice because they have them organized by Ancient Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Greece and Rome. It would be really great to read one daily and see what the differences are between the different locations. It also gives you an overview about the cultures as well as having some art showing things that are native to where the story comes from.
