Browsing Kindle Unlimited holiday stories I couldn’t pass by that sweet kitten on the cover nor ignore that the little innocent furry face witnessed a murder. Or did she?

At the cookie exchange/Homeowner’s Association meeting, President Heather Redstone, announced a mandatory Christmas decorating competition for the best décor in the community. Heather is not the most popular resident but the contest may bring clients to new interior design entrepreneur Shelby Nelson. Shelby and assistant Luis just wish anyone in the community could have been their first appointment other than Heather but wishful thinking doesn’t build a portfolio. Time to decorate!

This was a delightful novella to welcome in the holiday season! There are many cozies that welcome readers to small towns across America but this is the 1st time I remember a mystery setting in a specific community development. Residents of the development made an interesting suspect list. When I learned Shelby lives in Lakewood Estates in Texas it brought a smile and a giggle as when I lived in Texas the apartment complex name was Lakeview Apartments.

The adorable kitten pictured on the cover is a brown and white kitten in the story but as with every little kitten one meets in a cozy (and/or real life) any annoyance is melted by their unique personality and Mousse is no exception.… (mehr)
