I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This was my first book by this author and I can say I kind of enjoyed it, but am giving it a generous 3 stars as I feel with slight improvements it would have been a great book.

The premise of the book for me is what sucked me in initially, brother's best friend.

At first, I found it a little hard to get in to and didn't find the character's extremely gripping until around halfway through the book. By 75% though, I did find most of the characters enjoyable, more the supporting ones than the main. I did feel like the ending that was given to Ashley was a little unfair.

I liked the concepts of the technology, and some parts were unexpected to say the least!

In regards to plot, it was slow going and I feel like the first 60% was mostly smut with some inner monologues from the main characters - don't get me wrong I love smut but I do think the plot in the last 40% could have been spread throughout the book mixed with the scenarios that are already happening, rather than have the time jumps (I feel like there didn't need to be as many of these).

The minor tweaks with the plot, in my opinion, would have earned it 5 stars as it would give it the right balance of smut and plot! Also, it wasn't greatly romantic, I feel Atticus could have done more romantic gestures, rather than material things. And the 3 word confession was a little poorly handled, even for a book.

I will definitely be reading more of the author's work, but do feel there are some improvements to be made.

This is a fairy tale retelling anthology that I have just started reading.

Realm of Sugar Witches by Kelly N. Jane is a family-friendly Hansel and Gretel retelling set in Aclanus when Maya and Ean are 17 1/2 years old and can be read in half a day.

My review is for Beautiful Beast by Olivia Peters.

I absolutely love this retelling of Beauty and the Beast by Olivia Peters. This is not the story that us readers grew up on aka "Disney" version. Nope, this version is Showtime rated. I have read many books by Olivia, and they all bring the "steam", but I have to say this is by far the "steamiest" story of them all.

Adam was rough around the edges, but he was no match for Belle. She definitely won Adam over and that is when things really heated up. Not to say that the sexual tension before than was anything but HOT. If this is your first introduction to Olivia Peters, you are in for a great treat, and I can guarantee you will become a fan.… (mehr)

I will say that I went out on a limb reading the book. It’s not my usual type of book and I went in knowing it was steamy. Now for my honest review. I would give it 5 stars if it wasn’t for the “f” boom used in every other sentence. It was used in places it didn’t need to be. I also have come to the conclusion that the word is an okay word to use in today’s society whenever such as work place, schools, and everywhere. I’m old fashion so it’s not a word I wish to hear all the time. Yes, I’m old only ,61, but my generation doesn’t use the word. Saying that, I really enjoyed the story and characters of the book. The author did a great job describing each of the characters and the ending took me by surprise. I loved the main character, Remi Stone, who was such a klutz, a brainiac and wanted to get into the affairs of men of which she never had time for. I can picture her perfectly being so smart, graduating at a very early age and getting promoted to an unbelievable position and working with, as says she says, a number 10 CEO. The way the author described the number 10, Gabriel Icor, who wouldn’t want to be with him. So for me, I really enjoyed the concept and story line but could do without all the sex and “f” bombs. I can pass by the sex parts but the “f” bomb was used so much I couldn’t avoid it. I will definitely read more books by the author knowing what I am getting into.… (mehr)
